One more....

Post by wodesorel » Fri Oct 16, 2015 5:37 pm

The lady I rescued the leopard geckos had another ad up on Facebook with a chameleon with severe MBD and a female beardie that was being kept with a male in a 20 gallon tank... and at the end it said there was one lone hermit. So... I didn't have the money to save the others, but I could get the hermit at least. She actually gave it to me because she said it wasn't coming out of it's shell and she thought it was dead. It wasn't, but it doesn't look great. When I was in there in August I thought it was an empty tank. There was a 10 gallon with a thin layer of reptibark and a hermit hut with no bowls of water or food. I didn't think anything was in it so I didn't ask of they were for sale, too. I should have.

Anyway, he's a tiny little dude. Fingers crossed he does okay. He spent five minutes straight drinking when he got in the tank.

I know I have some up for adoption myself, but I couldn't leave him there.

It was definitely the right thing to do. It would have haunted me to leave one in those conditions.

Agreed! Poor little guy. :( I'm glad you were able to rescue him & get him into better conditions. And I read about your big guys...I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all of that!! :( I wish I could help by taking some of them, but I just don't think I have the space for them, and I really shouldn't get any more (I shouldn't have gotten my brand new girl tonight, but too late now, sigh) with planning to move soon. I hope you can find good homes for all of them. If there's anything I can do money-wise (if you set up any kind of donation fund, perhaps, to fund the new tank build), let me know! I could donate a little towards that.

He changed shells and I moved him over to the big tank. I have two others the same size as him that are doing great there. :)

Edited to add: Do you see the amount of poop in the supplement dish in front of him? I think it's all he's been eating. There are clay colored poops EVERYWHERE.

Adorable! (And I wondered about those occasional light-colored poops. Makes perfect sense now.)
