Some new faces!

Hey there!

My name is Serena and I live in northern WI. I recently graduated from UW-Platteville with a zoology degree, but I'm working as a CNA in a nursing home - thinking about going back to school for nursing!

I live with my boyfriend and our small zoo. We currently have two male guinea pigs, a hedgehog, a betta fish, and most recently we adopted three pp hermit crabs.

I had a handful of pp's when I was in middle school and absolutely loved them! They were passed on to my little sister once I went to college and she loves them way too much to ask her to part with them, so I decided to start over!

We have three, but one is currenlty burrowed into the eco earth and I didn't want to disturb him, so updates with his picture to come! Here are the other two :)

Thank you!

Vinny is missing the tip off of his back leg, but hopefully with some TLC and a high quality diet it will come back in well! They are both surprisingly tame for the conditions I found them in! Vinny also has a really bright orange leg! I wasn't sure if it was a problem or if it meant that something weird was going on with him and it scared me at first!

They are soooo cute. :toothy4: Don't know what the one bright orange leg means, but one of my hermies has one also. I'm sure someone will come on and tell us what it means (I'm assuming normal variation).

:hello2:

Just plain Jane coloring, a couple of my crabs have coloring like that. :)

the bright orange leg is most likely a re-grown leg from the previous molt. Nothing to worry about! It is good news when you see the new orange legs. It looks like the crab in the first pic, recently molted! He has sharp little finger nails, so adorable too!
