Hello! This seems to be the place to introduce yourself, and so this is indeed where I shall do it. You can call me Gryfin, I haven't owned a hermit crab since when I was very young, and sadly, no the 11 year old me had no idea how intricate their care really was. Because of common misconceptions I only had them 1 year, and assumed that was their natural life span. However, after that I took off with a love for animals and eventually began to favor herpetology! Anyhow, now days, as a 27 year old with more experience, and better pet care patterns I now research any pet I get thoroughly.
I have just recently begun researching hermit crabs ( This week in fact. ), and have taken a very serious interest in getting some Purple Pinchers ( 3 probably ) to begin with. I refuse to just jump in though, and want to slowly prepare over this year and maybe even next. Making absolutely sure I have everything to this time successfully keep them for their entire lifespan ( hopefully ).
Anyhow, when learning about new things, I typically try to involve myself in a community surrounding the topic of my interest, so I am sure you will see me around here. I will be sure to take photos of my crabs and set up once I decide to take the dive! I can't wait to get to know you all, and see everyones crabs, and crabitats.
