I got 2 PP’s from knoebels about 3 weeks ago. I already have 2 E’s in the tank. One had just died with in this past week and other one is still is in a painted shell that is being a pain and wont move into a non painted shells. I think the one that died had PPS. Since my 2 E’s that i got back May is doing great. They both been going to the food dish and eating. They had both went down back in july i guess for a molt since when they came up all their legs had new pointy tips.

Sorry about the PPS guy, but it's wonderful to hear the others are doing good! Hope your stubborn dude changes soon.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know Knoebels very well. I'm about 20 minutes away from there. They have worse conditions for crabs than most pet stores, very similar to what you would see at most beach shops. I am assuming they have an super high turnover of crabs there $3.50-$5 each so most aren't there more than a week or two.
We purchased a PP there around the 4th of July. He was in a painted shell about 5 sizes too small. Once home he changed into another one right away. Unfortunately he suffered from PPS and became inactive and would sit in one spot for days at a time not eating or drinking. He passed less than 2 weeks after we brought him home.
We have received several rescues that originally came from Knoebels and they have been doing fine for several months/years now.
How much bigger are the other shells you have for him to change into? If they are way too big they may not go into them. I found that adding salt inside the shells sometimes help spark interest along with moving them around in the tank every week or so.
