Hi, new crab mom here!
Hey, I recently picked up a hermit crab, Strider, at a pet expo. He's a small PP (about an inch at his shell opening). I asked the vendor lots of questions, but wouldn't you know that as soon as I got home and got Strider set up in his new little kritter keeper - I started doing more research and found out how wrong the vendor was!
So I've spent the past few weeks researching what I can online to give him a better life. I upgraded from the small kritter keeper to a 10 gallon aquarium with much deeper substrate (instead of the small layer of sand he was in), got a heat pad, digital thermometer/hygrometer, and gave him both freshwater and saltwater dishes. Every day I learn something new on taking care of him - so I'm sure you'll see me asking questions around the forum.

Check out the care links, foods, heat/humidity, etc. There's a lot to know. Yes, ask questions! We are here to help you and your crabbies! They need friends too! Get him a buddy or two!

Thanks you guys! It really helps to have so many good websites available to look through. I wish I had the internet when I was a kid, maybe my hermit crab I had then would've fared better...
