Help with crab species please

Post by sophiethecrab » Thu Nov 23, 2023 10:45 am

Hello! This is Bud, we have had him for well over 15 years but not sure on his species. I thought he was a purple pincher but an employee at The Bug Parc, Norfolk, said he thinks not! Any help? Thanks so much. Image

Yep, I agree! Looks like a Purple Pincher!

Funny that he's in a shell with a d-shaped opening. Once my crabs were a certain size, they would only use round shaped shells. Do you have some turbos or other shells with round openings for them to choose from?

Thank you! The employee said his eyes looked the wrong shape for a purple pincher. Now I don’t know what to think Image he’s in a nicer larger turbo style shell now yes, he was just so picky with changing!!
