Hello Friends Image

I am a second time “soon to be” owner of two hermit crabs who are in need of a new home. Currently, I am setting up their crabitat. With all of the information available to me on the internet and how resourceful I am, these crabs will be living in a 5 Star Resort. Image ImageImageImageImageImageImage

The habitat is under construction. Image I am missing a few necessary items before I will take them home with me, but I wanted to share my progress!

I am waiting for UPS to deliver my UTH, UVB Lighting, turbo shells and very important complete meals, prime, marine salt and leaf litter from South of the Ocean. Image

Upon doing research I found some very useful information but if there is anything you’d like to share please feel free to leave a comment.

I’ll post an update photo once I get the rest of my very important items for my crabitat. I should be ready to rehome once I receive everything in the mail.

Happy Crabbing!

I’m waiting for my complete meals and UTH from Reptile Basics.

Note: I will use insulation with the UTH.

More pictures coming soon!

If I could go back I would get the Wyze Cam V3
but I got the V3 Pan version which is huge in comparison.

The Wyze Cam V3 is on sale for $20 on Amazon!

If you have a tall tank, go with the pan cam… but my pan cam barely made the cut!

The people ghosted me so I rescued two hermit crabs from my local store who were the largest in the tank.

Turns out I have one male and one female. I asked my younger siblings to name them. So, say hello to Vulcan and Azula.

After about a week, they are now exploring the tank and eating their complete meals. Vulcan already showed me he was an escape artist, he nearly got out of the tank. So I placed weights on top for the time being.

I purchased some growth shells since it seems like 1.5 is the minimum size they can change to.

Silly crabs exploring and eating their complete meals!

Looking good! You'll want to get a few more shells - HCA recommends 3-5 extra shells per crab, in order to give them enough choice, and to avoid fighting over shells.
