HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hi,
My son has 1 hermit crab currently (I'd say he's medium in size, about a 2 inch leg span), in a 10 gallon tank. We'd like to get him a new 20 gallon tank. Does anyone have a particular tank they'd recommend?

Hi! I don't have a particular brand to recommend. However, if you are going to choose between a 20 gal high or 20 gal long, you want to get a 20 gal long. The dimensions at the bottom are bigger, and will give your crab more molting/digging room. If you have enough money, I'd say go for a 29 gal instead. It has the exact same foot print of a 20 gal long (30"Lx12"W), but is 6" taller. Your crabby will appreciate the extra space to climb!
