Looking for advice for beginners
I'm currently 15 and I was thinking of getting a hermit crab. I've seen mixed reviews if I should get them or not so I was wondering if they were actually true. Would hermit crabs be a good fit for me? Are they beginner friendly?

Have you taken a look at the basic care sheet? You can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=120&t=119273
And the HCA has other sheets about caring for hermit crabs here: viewforum.php?f=120
If you think that you could provide all that the hermit crabs need, they are a fun pet to have for many people. Are they a good fit for you? I don't really know much about you, so I have no idea.

Just a new crabber trying to take the best care of her crabs she can. :)

Some would say they are beginner friendly, some would not. As with anything, there are some items that are necessary that may not be cheap (the tank, heaters, substrate, shells), while other items may cost nothing (food from your kitchen or yard, climbing branches).
Read through our care sheets to see if the care seems like something you could manage.
