HERMIT CRAB EATING IT'S OWN SHELL

Help! I noticed that my Hermit Crab is clawing it's own shell and eating it.. I don't know what it's doing!

That is normal. They are known to eat the shell to make more room. Nothing to worry about. Do you have more shells for him to change into?

They modify their shells to accommodate their bodies and they also eat bits for calcium.
