Is she scared of new comer
Is she scared of new comer
I need advice! Crabby Girl came up from a molt nice and fury after about 5 weeks. While she was down I got her 2 pals dipped them in the water-bowl and set them off in the tank! So since she's been up she hasn't left the coconut bridge and I don't think she comes down at night. I sprayed down the moss pits this morning and when I got home from work put more than enough food in a shell and stuck it in the moss pit and put water below her. Is it normal for her to do this? Is she afraid of the other crab? It funny cause she's the outgoing one and now she just looks at me with those big black shiny eyes and wiggles her tentacles at me. HELP

Hace you noticed any signs of aggression? Did you have any crabs before the addition of the 2 newbies? Are the newbies bigger than crabby girl?

No signs of aggression that I've seen I may have to check them in the middle of the night. Originally I had 2 but lost one to a molt so it's only been her for maybe 4 months. One newbie is under and the other is the one in the picture she looks bigger than she is in the shell. It's funny the newbie in the corner was always hiding until Crabby Girl surfaced now she stays in the corner.aussieJJDude wrote:Hace you noticed any signs of aggression? Even though its a short time frame, she is probably a bit unsure since she has been by herself for a while. Ill just wait it out.

Awe! Poor Crabby Girl! I agree...just wait it out and watch them. Give them lots of distractions like maybe some new moss, a new piece of wood, or maybe just clean your shells.

Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

Yes, I agree with above. Distractions are good. Crunchy oak leaves. Freshly washed shells, if possible (w/o disturbing molters) moving decor. Imaging coming home from vacation and 2 ppl moved in. As long as they arent fighting I wouldnt worry too much. Maybe they are different sexes and its the 1st time they're seeing each other.

Re: Is she scared of new comer
I woke up to find the new comer in the food dish I put in the coconut bridge last night! So I sat and watched her cross and come face to face to Crabby Girl! My poor girl jumped out of the coconut shell hit the sand and I've never seen her scurry away so fast!! She was moving!!!!!!!! No chirps from either today I'll clean up the tank and move things around.CrabMater wrote:Yes, I agree with above. Distractions are good. Crunchy oak leaves.
