Would love some feedback and opinions on an item I made for my crabitat. (Hopefully I can upload the pictures correctly)
* opinions on design
* advice on introducing item to tank
I have, I believe, a 55 gallon tank with 5 PP’s ranging in size from medium to small. Right now there is a small hut that won’t fit everyone. A couple hide behind and to the side of the hut.
The item I’ve made out of PVC would provide more hiding space as well as space on the upper level for shells and moss pit. I plan on putting coconut fiber mat on top of the diffuser and hemp netting (which they haven’t used when it was in there before) for them to climb up on along with other item for climbing.
Advice on introducing the item. Since it’s rather large, I would have to redecorate a quarter of the crabitat. Adding new foliage, they chewed up the vine I had, without stressing them too much. Since all 5 are now up, I was thinking on doing it in the evening while they’re out and as quickly as I can to replace them back into the tank.
Can’t wait for the comments. Hopefully dong all this on Sunday.

Re: Decorating idea
Do you have the bury it?
Honestly, the crabs wont mind the redecorating/temporarily removal. As long as it doesn't happen constantly, they not going to mind a lot.

Thank you for the comment.
I wasn’t planning on burying it. I want to add a little more substrate to the tank and thought I might put the new substrate over the bottom portion so I wouldn’t disturb any tunnels that might be below.

Re: Decorating idea
Yeah. I dont see an issue with that, the crabs should be fine.
The only issue I see is crabs love to dog big holes, and knowing the 'damage' some of my crabs do, they'll flip that in no time. If anything, I'd suggest getting a few PVC supports down to the bottom so it's less likely to flip.
