So I'm relatively new to caring for hermit crabs and I'm not sure if this is completely normal crabby behavior.
My hermie swapped into a new shell on Sunday night (no molting within at least the last three months, when we first started caring for her) and then swapped back into her old shell last night (Monday night).
Is it normal for a crab to switch shells without a molt? Is it normal for them to test drive shells and return to them a day later?
Thanks for your advice and help!

Re: Trying on Shells
I've had mine try every shell that will fit and end up back in the shell they had on. No molt behavior in sight. Sometimes multiple days in a row. Crabs going to do what a crabs going to do. LOL

Re: Trying on Shells
I have one crab that tries on every shell it can stuff itself into before settling on one. Doesn't matter if they're to small or way to big. He's like a Pokemon trainer, gotta catch 'em all.
