Two crabs

I have 2 crabs, Joseph and Carlos. I bought them together. Carlos hates Joseph, and I read that hermit crabs are social. Would it be fine if I separated them? I don’t want Carlos to hurt Joseph. Would it be okay for Carlos to be an only crab?

What makes you think Carlos hates Joseph? Some things, like pre-copulatory guarding, can look like aggression. And do you have enough shells and feed protein regularly? Those are some other reasons crabs might attack each other
