Hermit crab fully submerged in water?

Post by Cyanicc » Tue Sep 26, 2023 12:05 am

I checked on my crabs before bed and noticed Minicrab in the freshwater pool, and she seemed to be pacing around in an almost frantic manner. What could this mean?

I’m not certain of the tank conditions, I know the humidity might be a bit low because I don’t have half of the screen lid covered. I keep my house in the high 70’s and they have a large heat pad on the back of the tank that is usually around the mid 80’s. I need to pick up a new temp gun and hygrometer lolImage

A family of lovely purple pinchers
A voracious Volcano morph Cherax Destructor
A sassy Banana crab
And a pigeon biting my feet

Totaly normal! This type of thing is why submergible pools are recommended. In fact I'm a bit jealous - i provide submergible pools and my ungrateful brats never submerge, or at least they wont let me see :joy:
