crab hasn’t changed from painted shell

i got 2 hermit crabs early last spring. they both came in painted shells and i made sure to put a bunch of shell options in there so they could molt and change out of the painted ones.
one of the crabs changed shells pretty quickly but the other one hasn’t and still hasn’t monthsss later. there are still different shells in there but they haven’t changed out of the painted one.

should i be concerned?? i’m sure there’s not really anything i can do but i know the painted shells aren’t good for them. i also don’t think they’ve molted yet but they’re on the small side..

Sometimes the crabs can take a little bit longer, try to encourage them by dipping their shells in salt water and them putting back in tank.

Are you sure the types of shells being offered are something they'll like? They can be picky about not just the size, but the shape and the weight.
