Question: what would happen if a hermit crab is missing the legs that he holds onto his shell with?
My hermit crab came up from his molt and his energy has been going downhill. Lately he seemes weak and seemed to struggle with his shell.
The other day i found him upside down in his pool almost out of his shell. Since ive taken steps to isolate him when i couldnt keep an eye on him. Yesterday morning and today i found him out of his shell completely. Was able to coax him back in using the care sheet info yesterday. Today i just lifted his shell for him and he slid his butt back in.
I caught a glimps today and saw he may be missing at least one of his back legs. Could our problems be from that?
I have already posted on the emergency page when he first concerned me and will update it as things progress.
Im wondering if any other crabbers have had this happen and what can be done to help him out?
