This is interesting to hear because the one E. that I've had was never like this. I do have one Ecuadorian who is just plain mean, but I attribute that more to his individual personality than his species. I got Francisco as a micro and he's quadrupled in size since then. He's only a small now but he's often trying to provoke confrontations with the other crabs. Luckily, they all just ignore him or flick him out the the way.
Before you buy Ecuadorians you could always do a personality check before deciding which ones to purchase. Look for crabs who remain calm and don't try to aggressively pinch you while being held.
Not to mention cute as heck.
I had him/her with a PP with a pink shell. They got along fine. Dang I need to get me some crabbies. It's been too long. But right now life's hectic. So I don't have time.Would know about them being aggressive towards other species?
