Anyone have one of there crabs eaten?

I had a molter come up from a 3 month long molt. She was back to being active, climbing, eating, etc. but her skin looked bright red and a little soft. I touched her leg and it felt fine though, but something just didn't look right. I didn't want to ISO her because I hate doing that to the crabs. But she suddently disappeared again... I don't know if she's doing a back-to-back molt or she was eaten by the other crabs because I've been finding tips of crab legs around the tank. But that could be part of someone's exo too since I've had 4 molters come up within a months period of time... I can't find her shell anywhere.

So I guess my question is, if anyone has had a crab eaten do the crabs that did the eating hide the shell when they were done? Or is there anything I could look for or watch for to make she she didn't get eaten?

It's possible if she didn't look right that she could have come up too soon and was attacked for still smelling like molt, but it would be a rare thing if she was already up and moving around that well. You should have found something like her shell or whole legs if she was attacked on the surface, but crabs do like to bury things so I can't say for sure that it didn't happen.

I think it's much much more likely that she reburied. Many times crabs will come up from a molt, recharge with food and water, and then disappear again for a few weeks to finish rebuilding exo and tissue. How many days was she up before disappeared again?

She was up for 2 days.

Yep, sounds like she just went down on her own again. Give it two weeks or so, I'm sure she'll be back up!

She's already back up. She was in he corner for a few days and is up now. Everyone is molting left and right! haha.

Yeah, they tend to molt in groups, for whatever reason. It's so frustrating having an empty tank when they decide to have a molting party!
