Post by 4x4bre » Wed Dec 24, 2014 11:19 pm

Ok so my sister got me a hermit crab for.christmas. not knowing anything about them she just picked the most active one. She was trying. I have a few questions. Hes about a quater of the size of my other 2 will they pick on him? Hes like.the size or a marble and the other 2 are close to the size of a golf ball. Also I think he is an e and my other 2 are pps will they get along? When I fisrt put him in there one of my big guys was on top.of him. :-\ I have a ten gal.tank with sand and coco fiber. My humidity is at 75 my temp is at about 83. I feed a variety of food just depends on the night.

I'd pull him out. You could put him in a plastic "Tupperware" like container or critter keeper with most of the lid covered in plastic wrap with some moist sand or coco fiber. I would also post under emergencies so someone with more experience can respond quickly.

He might need to go into a "time-out" bin.
I made a simple one using a tupperware (with a couple small holes poked in the top) with cocofiber and a small water and food bowl. I put it somewhere quiet and warm for a bit.
I haven't had any problems with crabs of different sizes harassing each other to a point of worry, though.
