taking crabs out of tank?

Post by Angela.Shylah » Wed Feb 11, 2015 12:12 am

My crab george really likes to come out, and claws at the glass whenever he sees me. Ive taken him out to run around twice, only for a few munutes at a time. Im wondering how long can they be out safely? Im worried about damaging his gills. (Temp in house is approx 65-70 and humidity in house is approx 50%)

I would say, keep it under 30 minutes or so.

Agree with Calla, maybe build it up slowly so he can get use to it?

Ive been taking him out for 5 minutes at a time, up to twice a day (depending on if hes crawling up the glass appearing to try to get out of the tank, or is just generally active and wandering around) and maybe after a week or so will get him out for 10 minutes at a time.
