New Crab, Has yet to move...

Post by EmilyHermitCrabs » Sat Jul 25, 2015 7:02 pm

I got a new crab today  ... but she has yet to move from her original spot in the tank. I'm thinking that she is just stressed from the move and the poor conditions, but it's been all day and she is still in the same spot. :crabblush: I just wan my crab to have a better life, and be happy

Is their anyone else in the tank? She could be destressing! Is she in her shell or hanging out of it? Is their any antenna movement? I just got new crabs today too! Hope she moves soon! I bet by the morning she'll have moved! Make sure theirs food and water! Feed her honey, egg, and organic honey; those are great food for destressing! Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! She is still in her shell, with no antenna movement, but her new friends seem to enjoy their new home...

Good news guys!!! I think she is just super shy. I just went to check on her, and she was walking, but the second she saw my shadow she went back in her shell. p.s. she is not limp, and the temp is at 73F and 75% humidity.

The minimum safe temp for a PP is 75. Try to boost that up 75% humidity is also the minimum safe range so a boost there would do them some good.

Ok great! It's amazing how some hermit crbs are not shy when you get them from the pet store from what they've gone through!

They are sluggish when cold so your extra heat gave her the little boost she needed. :)
