Mirror, morror on the wall

Post by me n my hermikids » Thu Nov 05, 2015 3:10 am

Has anyone ever tried putting a small mirror in the tank? If so, any crab reactions? I wander if a mirror would help with loneliness issues.

Never tried, and I don't know that they would react to it, but it would be interesting to see.

My Guinea pigs used to LOVE having a mirror in there. I know crabs are different but I think it would be worth a shot

I've thought about trying this, too, but never have. I have one crab (BG) who is super visual. When I first put a new forest background on my tank, he came out and stared and stared like he was trying to figure it out. He always sees me and comes to hang out, and whenever I do a redecoration the first thing he does when he emerges for the evening is just stand there and take it all in.

I swear I remember somebody trying it out and they noticed that some of their crabbies did communicate with themselves. Be interesting to see what they do; try it. :)
