Active crabby after molt.

Post by Krusty2015 » Fri Nov 13, 2015 6:17 am

My crab came up from his molt a little over 24 hours ago and other than sleeping as usual from 9 am to about 6 pm he has been very active and when I woke up this morning he was doing everything he could to knock over his acuweather themonter I added during his molt. I was wondering if it's normal for them to be so active after a molt? I thought he would rest more but he ate some when he woke up last night then went to work trashing his tank. He is currently emptying the contents of his shell into the freshly changed water dish lol.

My crabs are always very active after a molt. Its like getting out of an itchy tight ugly sweater you have been forced to wear all day. They are usually very hyper and excited. Enjoy it!

I did while it lasted. I guess he got bored or cold because my tank temp accidently fell to 73 and went back underground. :( Hoping to see him trash the tank again tonight! X)

That totally makes sense! He has had so much fun at night trashing his tank then when he notices me at the tank in the morning he goes back to his hole and goes back down like have fun cleaning that up! :)
