Finally got sand
Finally got sand
I finally got sand and im actually not sure if my hermies like it or not. They aren't acting the way they usually do and they seem like they are trying to get away from it. Lol im really not sure. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Finally got sand
The sand won't hurt them. Is this sand-castle consistency playsand you are using? What were you using before? My crabs always get frantic when I change things around, running all over the place. Other than that I don't know how to explain what you're seeing, but I can't think of a reason playsand would be harmful to them.

Re: Finally got sand
^This.
If it is playsand you're using, I still remember several years ago when one of our members changed her sub out for something different. The crabs went on strike for almost a month and refused to set foot on it. Sometimes it can take them time to adapt, but they will come around. Eventually hers did and they all molted and went back to their normal activities like nothing had changed and she had an easier time with the tank with the new sub!

I just didn't have sand. Just rocks. But I got sand as soon as I found out it was needed. Its sand castle consistency. And they did seem frantic lol. They've calmed down a lot now. Thank you so much: )
