Swapping Shells Back and Forth

Alright, there's been some fishy stuff happening with my smallest crab. Was getting ready to go to bed today when I noticed my smallest, in the corner, with a new shell. Normally, I would be like 'oh cool,' but this shell was smaller. Like, really small shell. I accidentally got a tiny one because I guess I under estimate my crabs size when I got them. Anyways, I go to get my tablet to find out what is going on, I look back at my tank, he's in his normal shell again! Can someone give me an explanation here? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Nah. They swap shells all the time. (Especially PP) if there is two that he is debating over he will go back and forth. My Carlton does that all the time.

Parker liked to change shells a lot but one night him and Zelda swapped shells and it ended.
Then I buy some more shells and put them in 3 days ago and ever since then Zelda has been in the Shell shop browsing around but not actually changing. Just keeps checking them all over and over lol. Weirdo.

It is not uncommon for PP's to switch back and forth between two shells. As long as you have enough shells for your crabs, they should all be fine.

One of my PP's can't decide between two favorites so "he" switches back and forth about once a week. One is a beautiful polished tapestry turbo and the other is some kinda odd ball turbo that is a plain, ugly tan with ripples and ridges all over it. He loves that thing, like a favorite old blankie.

I have a PP with a four shell collection, two red and two green. They range in size from too small to too large. He changes shells at least daily.

Zelda and Big Enzo would get along just fine: he, too, is in both shell shops every day, checking out everything from way too small (his favorites) to fairly large (his actual size), but ends up retaining his favorite comfy shell .
