What are your crabs up to?
Re: What are your crabs up to?
Right now Capt. Jack is in hiding after watching me freshen up his digs
But he'll have plenty to explore later!!
I added more sub, though the pics don't do justice. There are now two moss pits, one in the white holder & one higher up. The white piece I found at a thrift store & is to double moss pit/shell shop! I have a spot ready, just need to cut my ladder down some. Annnd still need to get craft mesh for the wheel lol
Yes I put an egg shell in the upper, coconut piece in the lower moss pits to help with exploration

That looks great! The only thing I would recommend is more sticks so that he can climb They are known as tree crabs. It will help give him exercise, and it's free! Just find a pesticide and fertilizer free safe to use tree (as well as make sure that they don't spray for mosquitos in your area), then you can freeze or bake a branch or twigs. It also gives him something to snack on for color My hermits love OakGiner13 wrote:Right now Capt. Jack is in hiding after watching me freshen up his digs

Thanks @Kermie16!!
GB- I do have one blackberry branch in there to start! I harvested 2 small branches from our bush that dried out from last year-pesticide free!!
I have a wooden ladder that I actually need to cut down a bit then place inside. I have a few spots

He was still hanging out on it this morning, sort of near the glass drinking up some condensation.

Re: What are your crabs up to?
she might have been knocking the dirt out. I saw one of my new crabs trying to brush dirt off for several minutes until he got smart and pushed it into one of the baths. rolled it around for a while, filling it up with water and dumping it out until he was satisfied. I was thoroughly impressed. I knew hermit crabs were intelligent creatures, but even that is impressive for a creature without thumbs!shanedaman112 wrote:Wow that's awesome
Last night they were all up and running around! Crabby finally found the bubbler pools and Biscuit changed her shell after I went to bed, she was checking it out for about 30 minutes before I went to bed. She was shaking it a lot rather than only doing the normal things...? She did do the normal checks but I don't know why she was shaking it for 30 min lol, anyway here's some pics!
Biscuit is in the middle of this shot, this was taken before she changed her shell
This is her now
