When he wasn't moving he was tucked tight in his shell. Little brat has had me scared. We leave town tomorrow and won't be back until sunday. This is the first time we have gone away since I have had them. Is there anything special I need to do? Tons of food, change water right before leaving. Not having anyone over since it will only be half of friday, half of Sunday and Saturday and we are only going 3-4 hours away. Any suggestions for him outside of these normal things?

Since you said you've not had a confirmed molter before, I just wanted to say, the amount of exo he left is normal. I always find bits turning up and the bp is the most often, and leg tips or whole leg exo.

Also i didn't even think to ask if when he wasn't moving, if he was tucked into the shell or sitting out, but if he was tucked in that's also totally normal when they are still hardening up.

I think for the most part you are out of the woods, since he's walking around and everything. Mine get skittish when they come up from molts usually, so if he's being more shy it's a pretty common thing.

Congrats on your first molt! He got very pink
Oh! And thanks for the congrats! Do you think this is his new color now? His BP is lavender. He is all pastel colors. Lol

He has been under one of the water pools in the iso tank. I don't really know what to do. He just doesn't seem to want to come out for me to check him. Being in iso isn't doing him any good at this point I don't think. If you think I am wrong PLEASE tell me so! Should I give him a dip and put him back in the main tank? I am in unexplored territory here.

Update:
This is Berry in all of his glory after surviving his surface molt. He is a happy and healthy little guy who loves climbing and hogging the dried shrimp whenever he gets the chance.
