Crab Hobbies

It's in the tank, under the substrate, just as many people do without any problems. It's on the very bottom of the tat (in contact with the glass) and doesn't actually get very hot. The crabs have most likely come close to it during digging and realize it's too warm so they don't go any closer.

Herman likes to change shells. He will try several, wear them for a couple of hours then back to his favorite! It is cool watching how he does it!

The only thing Butterfinger (I just named him) does, is everynight he always climbs up the sides of the crabitat in the same spot at the same time. Once he is at the top, he lets go and falls in the sand. Then he does the same thing over and over again.

My littlest PP, Mole has 5 shells he LOVES. He will put one on, walk around, then scurry back to the shell pile, drag one of 'his' shells to an open area, roll it around and swap. Then he'll put his old shell back!! He'll drag it to the pile and push it near his others. I'll peek in the tank late at night to see him atop his shell pile with shells in hand.. urmm .. legs? haha

He is so silly, every morning its a different shell! So I'll have to look thru the pile to see which one the little booger is in! :roll:
