Well, the big guy tried again last night and it was a hoot to watch. Big Enzo started at the top right front of the tank, hanging off the corner guard and tapping up at the glass lid. Unable to move it, he edged back along the corner guard, tapping the lid as he went. Reaching the back of the tank and the previously escape-abetting plastic strip, he tapped and pushed to no avail, finally dropping into the moss pit to plan anew. His exacting performance reminded me of the classic mime routine of being trapped in a box, pushing against the invisible ceiling and walls :hlol: .

Bets are still on  .

The conditions there weren't great, but the lady helping me was very gentle with the crabs and was expressing how upset she was that the tank was too cold by the fish but corporate made them keep them there. Somehow workers who care make crab buying a much more pleasant experience, even when the tanks aren't perfect. Anyways, here's ET. He's missing some tips and part of his big pincher but was active enough I couldn't get a good picture. Hopefully that's a good sign!

When I first put him in the tank he rubbed his claws against a rock for about 30 mins and picked the sand off and ate it like "OM NOM NOM, THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. THIS ROCK IS SO SMOOTH."

This will be my last crab as long as everyone pulls through. I'll be watching to see how he gets along with everyone and hopefully no PPS happens!

I was questioning whether he was an E or a PP. He kind of has E coloring except for the bright purple on his claw in the first picture which seems to be characteristic of PPs. Are you sure he's an E? I couldn't figure it out!

Last night I was watching Squirt climb into the moss pit. I went unnoticed for a few minutes but all the sudden she realized I was there and ducked down into the moss pit with her shell just sticking out. I felt like we were playing peekaboo, crabby style lol. Image

Somehow one or both of my crabs dragged away and hid an entire tomato slice. I cut one the size of my fist and stuck it in the bowl and it has disappeared.

i WIIIISH you had that on video!!!
Last night i snuck up on my crabs and flipped the light on to see what shenanigans they were up to. An E had gotten on top of this platform and tried to run away from me, only there were no bridges in that direction. He tried to climb down one smooth leg of the shelf, and emded up slowly sliding down like a fireman's pole!!! Image WISH i had my camera ready for that. And it was an E, so he had this look like "O SNAP! I'M SLIDIIIIIIIIING"

So all three of my tanks are super boring I have 11 crabs (I need to update my sig) and all but one are molting.

I believe flower switched into a green turbo because her shell is empty and top side but she's gone again. And Adrian I catch in the food all the time. Turbo is constantly in the moss pit since I got him.. I move him and he goes right back, like seriously dude eat or play or something aaah!!
Octavius is in his new 10g ISO calming down from a dig up. He's doing okay so far I just can't wait until he gets better.
In the 20g everybody is down. Junior was up for a day maybe less covered in dirt and in the food bowl. Even Poseidon, my biggest is molting. Omg so boring. Can't wait for their reawakening!!!

Thanks! I think I like posting pictures too much... And I feel your pain on the boring tank. My PPs just snuggle in the moss pit all day. As cute as that is I wish they'd snuggle somewhere I could see them!

Pretty sure the new tiny guy had PPS :( he didn't move from his spot for a week and now he's completely disappeared. We'll see how it goes.

But some small relief. My first complete molt in my new tank! I was paranoid I'd mixed my substrate incorrectly or something but then Wolverine popped up!

My cute little E (in a terrible shell)

Also. Not even sure how George got up there.

Ughhh I wish I could quit disappearing. I've gone back to school and it's consuming so much of my time! Don't worry though, I'm always lurking when I have a minute or two Image
