Tapping lightly on the glass is a great way to get your crabs to "socialize" with you. One of my crabs, King Felix the Pale, has always had long "conversations" with me when I tap and he taps back, back and forth, back and forth, his antenna waving wildly all the while

. Another means of communicating with your crabs is to hold out the index and middle finger on one hand and "wiggle" the fingers like antenna; if you can catch the crab's attention, he'll usually start waving his antenna and may even come over to see you!
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch
On the Big Beach in the Sky: Murray, Gino, Oscar, Gordon, Ignatz, Harry and King Felix the Pale

Lol! I'm going to have to try that! I'm going to be so bummed when these guys go back down to molt! They are total night time entertainment for me!! But at the same time I will feel proud because that means they are growing ^_^

Mine are disappearing so quick -_-
I've bought all of mine at a petsmart, (no molting room) recently learned this was bad. So i guess they are all getting a good molt in now that they can!!

@KaydeeLove<3 I did the same with my two babies. It was about a month before Captain Jack went down for his (successful) molt. It was a day then Peanut went down!! But I'm glad they decided my tank was sufficient molting grounds!!

Jack's was a month to the day lol he went down April 11th, day after my birthday, and resurfaced May 11th. I bought Peanut May 11th, and he/she has been down since May 12th. Peanut went nuts checking out his new home when brought home from petsmart. Spent quality time in the salt water & calcium mix in the tank.

Yes! I wasn't imagining it, LOL! Before his molt Hermie would come to the glass, sit on top of the half log and have long antenna talks with me while I wiggled my fingers. Since molting, though, he's not been as social with me.

This is why @wolfnipplechips is known as the Crab Whisperer. She figured out way back that if you wiggled your fingers at the crabs, they'd come out and talk to you. My son loves to do it.
