I bought a new smaller crab today for my tank, and I went away for a few minutes and came back to my bigger crab on top of the little crab (he was in his shell upside down). I took off the bigger crab and moved the smaller one to the end of the tank, and the little guy dug down the next day to molt.
The big crab was not holding onto the little crab's shell at all, and when I moved them apart he did not follow the little one at all and went to his usual corner near the UTH. I feed them plenty of protein both insect and animal.
Was my bigger crab just showing the little one who the BOSS of the tank was, or was he actually trying to hurt him?

Probably just showing him who's boss.

I kinda thought that..I had him box a newly molted crab before, but stopped doing it after I bathed both of them. I think he just wants to be king of the sand castleCallaLily wrote:Probably just showing him who's boss.
