I was just moving stuff around in the tat this morning (nothing major, just smoothing sand, etc), and I lifted up the coco-shell - which up 'til now no one usually sleeps in, and behold there were 2 crabs in there.....they proceeded to quickly scatter into new hiding places, one of them, back into the cocohut which I promptly put back into place! Now I flashed a light in there, and it looks like he's literally sleeping with his shell turned upside down (like on his back - hope that makes sense). His eyes are out, as are half of his claws, but he's very still and looks like he's sleeping like that.
Anyone else's crab do that? I'm sure it's within the realm of normal, it's just nothing I've seen so far, LOL....

LOL. that's funny, I had a crab do that, but he was digging on his back, not sleeping.

It sounds like you may have startled him when peeking in with the flashlight. I've had some crabs that pull back into their shell so quickly they flip or fall.
