Anyway, I just bought three new hermit crabs at the pet store (at least it wasn't the mall kiosk) and I figured they would all need time to get settled. One is sleeping in the cave and the other is buried in the corner which I assume are normal reactions. The third, however, is being capricious. He's roaming everywhere and trying on multiple shells and switching back and forth. He basically looks like this guy:

Whenever he tries to change shells, he ends up falling and scrambling around naked until he gets safely back into a shell. Is this normal for a new crab to 1) so thoroughly enjoy switching shells and 2) be so terrible at it? Is he maybe not used to having so many shell options? I just don't want him to tire himself out.
