Newbie in the Water

Post by Carahj3 » Fri Nov 06, 2015 12:12 am

So I just brought Princess Peach home tonight from a pet store, and she has been submerged in the salt water since she got in the tank. which has been roughly 2 hours. she has surfaced for air. I'm not necessarily concerned about her, as she is moving and probably really needed it, but should I get worried at some point if she doesn't come out?
I don't want to stress her out anymore by moving her.

another question: does this suggest that I should be preparing for her to molt? if so, id say she's a medium sized crab with all of her limbs. she is a light pastel pink with grey body, and red tips on the legs. is there anything with that being said that I should prepare for, or any tips on what she could need? I don't know if that coloring is a good thing or not???? no matter how pretty it is

Assuming she has easy ways out of the pool, she should be fine. Sometimes they just really needed that soak in the water - she may be due for a molt or may have just went without for a time before coming home with you. Keep an eye on her though. If at any point she looks weak or streaks, you will need to intervene. But it sounds like she's moving around fine and just enjoying a nice soak.

but also LadyMorrgian, no I don't have any pictures of her at the moment because the tank was already dark when she was put in, wouldn't cooperate in my hand before that, and my flash would not do me any justice I plan to get some tonight if she works with me, if not, then this weekend for sure.

I'm glad to hear she's still doing well! Personally, I would hold off on handling her for now. Give her more time to get used to her new home and through her first molt with you. :D
