Just a funny note on the difference between my Es and PP

Post by charbeenie » Mon Feb 22, 2016 8:09 pm

So I had my Es 1st then got 2 PP. When it was just my Es I thought it was so cute that they were so neat and clean. They walk up to the shell and will eat a little out of each shell (I usually offer no leass than 5 different items every night). Even with honey and peanut butter they would eat over the shells. Than my PP came home and good gravy they are messy little critters! LOL they drag food evey where!!! My big PP walks through the bowls even though I keep the center clear for their runway lol which there is plenty of walking room. But they keep me busy! Still my loves just messy babies lol

I don't have any Es yet, but I do have PP. The are really mess! I have to pick up their waste and food that has been dragged all over the tank. They take up a lot of time, but you've gotta love them!!!lol I was cracking up when I read this. :D

You know, all my crabs generally eat out of the dishes. I use a pestle to grind everything down so they can't drag off one big piece and burry it. However, My Es and straws tend to be more ferocious eaters than my PPs. I have one E who is still skittish-she hates me-she runs off terrified every time she sees me but when Fifi is eating and sees me it's is the funniest conflict for her. She wants to run away but instead she just shovels in the food faster, with both feeder claws while looking at me with terrified E eyes.: So apparently Food trumps Possible Predator.
6 PPs, 4 Straws, 3 Es * 1 Teeny, 6 Smalls, 4 Mediums, 1 large and 1 Jumbo in a 70 gallon
1 Boxer puppy, 1 Yorchie mutt, 1 cat, 1 ball python, 1 boa

My es are not dainty eaters, they are just as bad as my pps. Messy eaters, pooping in the food dish, carrying off food, and sometimes fighting over food....no manners.

I hardly see poop anywhere other than the food dish with my PP's.... there's also this stuff everywhere that could be food but I'm pretty sure it's just the coco fiber mixed with the substrate that dried from being on top. Probably hides a lot of the poop I'm not seeing but that'll all change once I get a pooper scooper!

My local petco only had PP's from what I could see anyway. Maybe they get some soon (:

Mine didn't even know they had them, they thought they were all PP lol but I will give them this much! When I told them they needed fresh foods they started feeding them fresh veggies and fruits. They make sure they have heat and offer salt and fresh water.

Well that's good! I felt bad for the crabs I left behind but at least the guy I talked to knew that they liked to bury themselves and knew they would be hiding under the moss in the back lol.
