Today I heard clanking in my bathroom and thought my cats were tipping over their water dish. I went in their to find Gary attempting to crawl in the cats water bowl. I picked him up and he was ice cold. He didn't retreat into his shell, just crawled on my hand. I immediately put him back in the tank and inspected it for possible escape routes, only to find none.
Gary seems to be a bit diss colored. Not as bright and vibrant as he was. My house is only about 67 degrees, as I live in MN. Last week we were in the high 80's and this week in the mid 50's. I feel like Gary has been out for a while due to the coloring and how cold he was. How he evaded my two cats and me and my daughter remains a mystery. He is acting normal, and out and about, however I am worried there could be internal gill damage. I guess time will tell.. Hopefully Gary doesn't try anymore escape attempts. Or if he does, hopefully it's a day where we are in the 80's or 90's. Ugh.
