HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Ok so this is probably a little weird and idk if you know what this might be but Hairy is the first crab I've ever gotten and I've had him for 3 years. It started a couple months ago when Hairy started watching me and idk why, even though it's probably nothing since Hairy never acted quite like any other I've had. There's been countless times where I'm sitting in my bed to look over and see him staring at me. And when I look at him, he raises his body and all four antenna go into the air. It kinda reminds me of an underwater crustatian the way his body and antenna slowly go up. Anyway do you know what that might mean

He is used to your presence and probably associates you with food.

My crabs have learned that when my classroom lights come on in the mornings that I am there to clean the tank and change their food. I always have 2-3 come out to say hello when I come in.

Wow. All those sound kinda weird. Except the one about the crabs learning to come out when the lights go on.

My crab John Cena watches me too. He will wiggle his antenna at anyone who stops to peer at him. I love it. First Contact.

The clown joke was because down here in Florida we apparently have people dressing up as clowns scaring people.

I think the clown thing is almost everywhere in the US at least. We have them up in CT too. And there are announcements with up coming Halloween festivities that there will be "no clowns" present. [UNAMUSED FACE]

They're in Ohio too, I think it's a US thing as someone I know who lives in the UK hasn't heard of them at all.
