Help Please!
Help Please!
Ive had this litter (used to be 7 now 5ish , Ill explain) Since the eariler part of this year Ive been observing these guys . Ive just lost recently the runt of the litter , a small purple and I think I just found the remains of another who up till recently I thought was okay , Cyclops. I found a dark purple clawed hermie ( I havent named all of them ) under the water bowl munching on the remains but no shell . The runt was also similar to this but I never found his corpse just the shell . What should I do? I think Cy was close to molt as was Pepsqueak . The darker bigger one never come out when held . The others I have are fairly social and dont mind me changing food and water infront of them. Im just afraid that this one hermie will keep picking off the others .
Re: Help Please!
Oh no:( I think best thing to do is to fill out the emergency template under the emergency section so we can become more familiar with what u have going on in ur tank and what might be triggering certain behaviors.

Here is a link to the template:

Other crabbers can help figure out what the problem is if you fill it out!

Until you fill out the template and figure out the problem it may be best to ISO the hermie you believe is being aggressivefang092 wrote:Ive had this litter (used to be 7 now 5ish , Ill explain) Since the eariler part of this year Ive been observing these guys . Re: Help Please!
Hiya,
I ended up posting on facebook because of a friend's suggestion , it turns out he was eating an exo, not another crab. Although looking at his coloring , I cant tell when his molt started or if its an exo from another crab. I think its from another crab because there was a crab with a missing eye stalk but now none of them are missing an eye stalk lol

Glad he wasn't eating another crab
But I would suggest filling out the emergency template. Something may not be right with your crabitat that a crab is eating another's exo. What is expected is that the crab digs a tunnel down into the sub and molts there. There should be plenty of space for the crab to molt without being disturbed.
