Found a crab naked and mixed up with the Moss just a little bit ago. He was a little guy, and it looked as though he got beat up because all this limbs were tangled in the moss. This is the second crab we have had go naked and then die. This time we had the humidity at 77 and the heat in the tank is at 72. Not sure why this happened again. We have another one that my boyfriend accidentally dug up while we think he was molting. My boyfriend placed him under the log and he hasn't moved in weeks. I suppose he is probably dead too? We never see our crabs so it's impossible for us to know when one has gone underground to molt. Any advice would help thanks.

Re: Lost another crab
I'm sorry about your loss. I'm on my phone, so I cannot post the link for the emergency template. Heat & humidity need to be at the minimum 80 at all times. Hermit crabs have modified gills and need the humidity to breathe. Also, you mentioned a log...half pine logs are debatable sap is unsafe for hermits. Most crabbers don't use them. Try to get heat & humidity up asap! Look under forum for suggestions under Crab care. Sorry, Tapatalk doesn't let me link pages.
