Crab suicide??

Post by JulieK0311 » Mon Jan 30, 2017 7:40 am

This morning I awoke to find one of my crabs naked and dead in the water bowl. She's big enough and the water was low enough to know this wasn't an accidental drowning. It looks like she abandoned her shell on the opposite side of the tank and just went to the water bowl to die. There's no sign of injury to her and no one else has claimed her shell. Has anyone had this happen? The other crabs seem to be doing ok but more are buried than usual. Any suggestions or advice? Thank you!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss!! It almost sounds like she did. Was she very old or anything?
