Are these 3 Ecuadorians. I recently went to petland to scout the store and saw atleast 20-30 Presumed E's in a huge tank. Seeing how rare they are I picked these 3 up. Im offering some shells they could like but there still in those nasty painted ones.

Yes, they have to be the cutest little fellas. Too bad there so dang stubborn when it comes to changing shells. So are they E's?

They're E's and unless you have shells in shapes they like they won't be too quick to change out of the ones they have on that are likely modified.
E's prefer oval openings like land fairy, babylon, nerites.
Mine have at least doubled in size and are now opting for turbos and babylons.

Thx!! Im pretty excited there were so many I wanted them all lol. Im purchasing some nerite shells and was wondering if unmodified were better or should I look for modified ones? Which would they prefer.

What would the difference be? I've not heard those terms in relation to shells.

What I've noticed is that unmodified still have the ridges in opening and modified there worn down. I've only seen this in nerites. That's what im wondering if the like one over the other.

Modified shells are missing the inner spiral, to varying degrees. E's wear the insides down in order to stay in the same shell for longer. In a heavily modified shell there will be nothing inside and it will look like a baseball cap. And yes, modified shells are often very tempting to Es as they are lightweight. They seem to like the lighter shells since they run from danger rather than hunker down like tanks like PPs do.

Thanks I guess ill just purchase a whole bunch and see which they like. Im thinking nerites and Babylon shells. Maybe a couple new turbo's for diversity.
