Colors crabs can see

Post by KDK241 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 8:47 am

I haven't posted on here in awhile but after having zero luck with a blue nighttime bulb I decided to do a little research and came across this paper. Its an interesting read and might tell us a little more about our mysterious crabby friends :) It will open right into a PDF.

Since reading it I have switched to a red led bulb and have seen a huge difference in activity.

I have a blue LED light strip in my tank and have also had hiding issues when I turn it on. As soon as I am able, I will be switching. This was a fascinating article. Thank you so much for sharing.

A ceramic with no light is better. They can definitely see the red just fine! I've always had better results with a dark moonglo myself.
