Hello,
I've had 4 crabs for several months now. Everyone always burrows down during the daytime. Their tank is always between 75 and 80 degrees, and the humidity is currently bouncing anywhere from 75% to 99% depending on if I leave a hatch open (Recently upgraded, still experimenting on getting the humidity to stay at a reasonable level that isn't 99%). I know they burrow to destress, and that they are nocturnal, but is it normal for all of the crabs to burrow during the day? Unless molting, everyone usually comes out at around 12 am - 9 am, but I feel like any changes in behavior would be easier to observe if they were out and about more often. They are all pretty skittish. Is this normal behavior, or should I be adjusting tank conditions or something along those lines?
Thanks

Re: Burrowing In Day?
Totally normal. I hardly ever see mine during the day. Out of 12 in 2 tanks only one is sometimes out and about during the day. They are either underground or in the moss pit. And humidity at 99% is fine. No such thing as too humid.
If you want to watch for changes in behavior install a camera in the tank. I have 3 cameras. Although in black/white night vision it's really hard to tell who's who.
