How to get my crab in a shell

Post by bridgetterose23 » Thu Dec 23, 2021 5:55 pm

Okay, here is the deal. I have a tiny crab that one day decided to go naked and then I looked up on the internet how to get him back in the shell and it worked until he decided to change shells everyday. 3 days ago, he got out of his shell again and I did what the internet said to do by forcing them into a shell and keeping them in the dark for an hour and he is still not in a shell. I gave him 5 choices to choose from but he just sits on top of the shells and goes down to get a little bit of water from time to time. What can I do to get my hermit crab to get in a new shell and stay in the new shell for good.

Hi,

You said you've looked on the internet about how to get a crab back in its shell. Have you specifically used the HCA methods? If not, here is the info:

https://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB ... 7&t=122302

Could you also fill out the emergency template?

It can help us get a look into your tank conditions, and possibly what could be causing an issue for your crabby.
