HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I was woken by loud tapping and chirping. I assumed it was a fight bc one of the crabs was on top of each other. I separated them in case that was a big issue and ordered more shells. Was that the right decision. Barleycorn usually spends its time buried and it’s the bigger one. Could the smaller one be bullying it?

Usually it’s the bigger crabs doing the bullying but personalities can vary. Getting more shells isn’t a bad idea. Making sure there are places they can hide to avoid each other can also help
