Crab Alone - Getting Two More

Post by hlabone72 » Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:43 am

Is there a specific way to introduce new crabs to one who has been alone (by time they get here - maybe a five days)? I just want to do it right

Many of us give all the crabs - old and new - a quick dip in the fresh water so they all smell the same.

Ok awesome. This says to give them a salt bath from travels, ordered from Amazon after lots of research - local store didn't have any at the time. So maybe the salt dip and a little fresh from my tank. Ok thank you so much!

No, they do not need to have a salt bath at all. As long as you have both dechlorinated fresh water and marine salt pools, they will go in when needed.

Edit to add - they need a pool/ bowl/ bath tub..... but you don't need to *give* them a salt bath!
