My oldest and biggest jumbo crab (he/she is at least 25 years old and in a 3-inch plus shell) has been tunneling repeatedly for weeks now every night. Sometimes it stays under for a few days, resurfaces, and then tunnels again. Half of the six-foot-long tank is at least 10 inches deep, so they have plenty of space to tunnel and molt. But why won't the crab settle down and molt? Or is this behavior indicative of something else I should be concerned about?
I have used separate molting tanks when many are molting simultaneously (I have five crabs). So, should I move this one to a separate tank to molt if that is why it keeps digging? Or do you think it is just being active for fun?
Any thoughts most appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Super active
This behavior is normal. Sometimes they just want to dig
