He won't stop climbing the lid & getting stuck

I'm a recent adopter of a little Hermit Crab I've named Marcel (from Marcel the Shell with Shoes on
). His tank has a mesh lid that I plan to replace with an acrylic one SPECIFICALLY because of this issue (already have a plan mapped out on how/where to put the holes for airflow). You see, he's a serious climber, but he's kinda dumb & REFUSES to let go once he's on the lid, even if I take the lid off & flip it so he's rightside-up. I've left him be for THREE DAYS before & he's just stayed in the corner of the tank facing the wall, refusing to let go even though there's a literal ramp about an inch below him that I put there to try to help him get down. It's gotten to the point where if I see him climbing the lid I just get him down immediately because otherwise he just... doesn't come down at all. Like I've said, I already have a plan to prevent this in the future with an Acrylic lid that I'm gonna drill holes into for proper airflow, but I can't start working on that for a while due to bills & a few other issues. Is there anything I can do until then to prevent him from getting himself stuck?
