I don't usually mist my crabs directly because they seem to shy away from it. I have always assumed this is the case because they don't have any eyelids, but I could certainly be wrong. I just make sure and keep the humidity in my tanks around 80% to make sure they have an easy time breathing.

I mist mine sometimes but only on the wood and sand so it will stay wet if they want to dig. My hermit crabs don't like being misted either.

My guys actually seem to like misting. The humidity is up anyway, but for a boost when it drops a little I will mist, and the majority of mine come out and will actually crawl closer to the top to get into the spray.

My guys( and girl) don't seem to notice some times they hid in their shells, but I don't spray them directly.
